The winner of the Institute of Fundraising National Awards Lifetime Contribution Award 2008 is: Gill Raikes.

This award recognises the truly outstanding contribution to our sector from a single individual.

This year’s winner has clocked up 30 years of service in fundraising, and is respected and admired by everyone.

Gill has over 24 years at their current organisation, one of the largest charities in the UK. Very few of the winner’s peers can claim such a long association with the cause for which they fundraise - with seven jobs in four locations and two departments, all of them in fundraising. This individual has worked in marketing and promotions, organising national events and raffles, mobilising supporter groups both here and overseas.
