BEST USE OF THE TELEPHONE
"Give a few bob" - Prostate Cancer Research Foundation

This award is for the campaign that demonstrates innovation linked to success in the use of telephone fundraising.

The award for best use of the telephone goes to a campaign which aimed to recruit 250 new regular givers with a minimum average value of £70 from 3,600 telephone calls. It exceeded that target by 40%. A total of 302 donors were signed up, each with a value of £72. A further 29 were signed up during the reminder call or on returning their forms. That’s a positive result.

That positive result came from hard, thoughtful work from several sources. The charity’s ethical team set the tone of the whole strategy, from sourcing data, to how to recruit donors and compose the welcome confirmation letter. Telephone lifestyle surveys were mined for potential donors who were telephone-responsive. Fundraisers were given specific initial training by the charity’s teams, as well as constant coaching, support and monitoring. The hard work all paid off and we applaud their result
